The Better Side of Lockdown

 Everything was normal. People were busy in their hard-pressed lives. Local trains were running ceaselessly making a clickety-clack sound. The cars were disrupting the silence and mantling the calm and clear blue sky as usual. The birds were dying due to our interventions in the environment. The chirping of the birds was heard as never before. The sky appeared clear blue which was infrequent and extraordinary for our generation. Nothing stirred.   Every day was the same day. Get up at 5am, catch a local train, reach college , study, return back and sleep. The loop started again the next day.    INTRODUCTION The novel, Jane Eyre is Charlotte Bronte’s protest against patriarchy. It is about a valiant orphan named Jane who struggles and fights her way through anguished childhood and enigmatic adulthood under her own steam to claim her unconventional and independent status in the society. Jane sets her face against the mastery over her by the men in her life. She fights against all the odds and secures an equal position to men in the society. This is a captivating narrative encompassing love, Christianity, valor and feminism.
